Besco shower doors – functionality tailored to your bathroom

Shower doors are the most commonly chosen fitting when designing a walk-in shower. They allow you to make the most of your bathroom’s layout, creating a watertight and attractive barrier. At Besco, we ensure that our doors not only operate smoothly but also enhance the interior. A wide range of sizes and finish options allows you to create a shower area perfectly suited to your needs.

Types of shower doors – which system to choose?

The choice of door opening mechanism should be dictated by the amount of free space in front of the shower and the width of the shower enclosure itself:

  • Sliding Doors: The best solution for narrow bathrooms. The doors move on rollers inside the frame, so they do not require any additional space outside the enclosure.
  • Swing and Tilt Doors: Classic doors that open outwards (or in both directions). They offer convenient access, ideal for most shower enclosures.
  • Folding Doors: An innovative solution where the door panels fold inwards. This is an excellent compromise that combines the comfort of a wide entrance with space-saving in the bathroom.

Safety and easy maintenance

All Besco shower doors are designed with the safety of household members in mind and to minimise the time needed for cleaning:

  • Tempered Safety Glass: Panes of a thickness tailored to the type of construction are resistant to impact and thermal stress, ensuring peace of mind during daily showers.
  • Besco ProClean coating: A special protective layer on the glass causes water to condense and run off the surface more quickly, reducing the formation of soap scum and limescale.
  • Sturdy Aluminium Profiles: These ensure the structure’s stability and are rust-resistant. Available in: chrome, matt black and elegant gold.

Why choose Besco shower doors?

Our products combine proven technology with attention to aesthetic detail. Each model is fitted with durable magnetic seals that guarantee a quiet and tight seal, eliminating the problem of a wet bathroom floor. The ergonomic handles are not only convenient for everyday use but also blend perfectly with modern bathroom fittings.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can shower doors be installed directly on the floor?

Yes, most Besco shower door models are designed for installation both on a shower tray and directly onto tiles with a linear drain. Installation without a shower tray is particularly recommended in modern, minimalist designs and in bathrooms used by older people.

How do swing doors differ from hinged doors?

Swing doors usually open in only one direction (outwards) and are mounted on side hinges. Swing-and-slide doors have a special mechanism that allows them to open both inwards and outwards from the shower enclosure, offering greater flexibility in managing the space inside the shower.

Is it difficult to install a shower door in a recess?

Installing a door in a recess is simpler than installing a full shower enclosure, but it requires great precision in ensuring the walls are plumb and level. Besco doors feature wall profiles with a function to compensate for wall curvature, which makes it much easier to fit the frame into the recess. Due to the weight of the tempered glass, it is recommended that the installation be carried out by two people.
